Supermarket Vouchers For Free?
One of the regular occurring scams is back, being spread mostly by WhatsApp at the moment but likely to be popping up on other platforms like Facebook and TwitterÂ
What’s the scam?
A message stating that a well known supermarket is giving away free vouchers with a link to claim the vouchers. So far Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Asda and Aldi have been spotted, but others could be used too.
the link is to a fake page used to harvest information, and the download is a malware infected file.
What should I do?
If you receive the message, select to report it as spam via the messaging options, and then delete it and block the sender. As long as you don’t click on the included link you are safe from any virus or malware infections.
Always make sure you have antivirus software installed, configured and up-to-date on your devices, from desktops and laptops to tablets and smartphones.
