Samsung have got the cutting edge in this with their 49" QLED monitor.
Microsoft Excel open on CHG90 /Antonio Villas-Boas/Business Insider/ Original Post
It's got a resolution of 3840 x 1080 (that's a 32:9 aspect ratio) and could give you the screen estate of a traditional 3-monitor setup but with the seamless uninterrupted view of a single QLED panel.
While having Excel open across the entire screen (On standard settings, you get across to column BG before you need to scroll) is not the best use of the screen, it does show what the extra width can offer.
It comes with a utility to manage the extra screen space, allowing you to split it into two, three or more virtual screens both along the width and vertically with a maximum of 6 virtual screens in two rows of three.
Specs
The screen uses Samsung’s HDTV ‘quantum-dot’ technology giving a vivid colour accuracy and deep blacks, with HDR10 for high-dynamic colour range. and is the first monitor to use AMD’s FreeSync2 technology which helps pipe out the graphics from your graphics card faster to prevent stuttering or slanting game/video play.
It’s got a VA LCD ultra fast display with a response time of one millisecond and a refresh time of 144htz. Samsung have also supplied some extra connectivity via DisplayPort, Mini Display Port, two HDMI ports and three USB 3.0 ports.

You can’t have failed to have heard about the latest flagship mobile from Samsung, the S6 and the S6 Edge, here’s a run-down of what’s getting everyone so excited;
It’s thin, think of the thinnest smartphone you have ever had, it’s thinner than that!
It comes with wireless charging, yep – you don’t need to plug it in to charge it up, just rest it on it’s charging pad and it starts to recharge, and quickly if we take Samsung’s test results as a benchmark.
The Edge has extra screen space wrapped around the side of the phone, making the screen truly edge-to-edge display, but also giving some neat uses, like contacts, phone, news alerts and other notifications giving quick-access to apps.
The body of the phone is metal and sturdy, with a glass front and back face.
The screen on front is 4xHD with 577 ppi in a 5.1 inch screen space. Not sure what that relates to in real life? It means the display will be sharp and crisp when looking at HD movies or photos. If you wan’t bragging rights, the iPhone 6 Plus has 401ppi
16MP back camera with flash, and a 5MP front facing camera for those selfie moments
It’s coming with Android 5 (Lollipop) installed, along with a handful of Microsoft apps, such as OneDrive (Microsoft’s online ‘cloud’ storage) OneNote and Skype, the over-the-internet video calling service.
