The ICO have released details of a Telford company who have been fined for a breach of Data Protection.
Nobel Design and Build in Priorslee, Telford had failed to register with the Information Commissioner’s Office a criminal offence in the UK for any organisation that processes personally identifiable information.
They also failed to display appropriate information about the use of CCTV under the Data Protection Act despite the ICO writing to them three times to advise them of their responsibilities under the Act.

Telford Magistrates convicted the company and fined them £4500 for their breach of the Data Protection Act, and ordered them to pay costs of £364 and a victim surcharge of £170

The offence took place before the new GDPR came into effect and so they were prosecuted under the Data Protection Act 1998
